Fishing in Devon & Cornwall

Have a great break dog sitting and fishing and also sold a few rods. The best fish was a 3lb Roach from Youldon Waters go to there facebook page to to the latest catches.Quality Fish.Float fishing in the margins with worm. Also for the first time fished Woodacott Lakes that now has a new owner Dean Marks he moved in last October he is making a lot of improvements, as the site/lakes was very rundown. The fishing is now improving and I was very busy catching quality roach up to a pound and carp of 9-10lb.Again float fishing in the margins with worm and bread pinch. Also had a day at Legge Farm that I fished in June for a week.this time had a few carp off the top but rain stopped play on the day.Had a great time and will be going again.

Legge Farm Coarse fishery Devon

Just had a great week fishing at Legge Farm Highampton Devon. The wife and I stopped in one of the Bungalows that was perfect within the grounds of the 18th century thatched Legge Farmhouse The farm has five lakes in woodland settings. The new owners had just moved in and were very busy but Nick Berridge the new owner still had time to talk. The lakes are very well stocked with roach, rudd, bream, tench and original wildies carp. The lakes have been there for some 30years plus. All the fish caught where in very fine fighting condition.

Local Lake Fshing

The weather is on the change for a spot of tench fishing so off the local club lake.Arriived to see I was the first to arrive.Starting about 7.00 justing starting to warm up.Starting to put a small amount of chopped worm groundbait with worm as hook bait.Did not have to wait long as the float slided away at a fast pace, and I was into a very good fish.Releasing the clutch to let the fish run but it was going at a great pace so I applied pressure and slowley tighted the clutch then it was all over one lost large carp.Replaced hook length and worm and started fishing again.Within the the hour the float was off I was into another fish but a lot smaller than the last one.And was quickly into the net .A tench of 4lbs.Well that was it for the day.
