Just have a few days off fishing local rivers and ponds.Day 1 River Trent Blank Day river to low and very weedy please lets have some rain. Day 2 Local Lake  weather great but fish not playing again today  water very clear  need rain and a few windy days this is the lake that does hold some quality carp, tench, perch and good roach.Day 3 A new venue a classic old lake.Carp and silver fish topping all over lake.A good day had waggler fishing roach, rudd, perch and the humble gudgeon.A line out for carp but no takers. Two anglers fishing the next peg had two true  wild carp 6.50 lbs and a 4lb 8ozs great fighting fish they did not want to come to the net.Reminding me of my early youth days fishing the the Grand Union Canal at Greenford Middlesex and also a month ago with my eldest son Paul on the Grand Union Canal at Pitstone Bedfordshire fishing the waggler with a 2.50lb hook link with a size 18 hook when a large carp took the double maggot ,topped and showed me his back and tail and headed for the trees on the other side of the bank. Paul had a better evening  with floating crust a a carp of 8lb.Day 4 Day of Rest cleaning pond pump, post office packing posting and collecting parcels.Did I say day of rest the list is endless but I would not it any other way.
